Independence National Historical Park – Located just outside Philadelphia is Independence National Historical Park. It preserves the location of the Declaration of Independence’s signing and the U.S. Constitution. You can tour the buildings where it happened, including the Pennsylvania State House, which now serves as the US Capitol building.
Betsy Ross House – This house was the headquarters of the American Flag Design Committee during the Revolutionary War. It is now home to a museum that tells the story of how the American flag was created.
Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts – Founded in 1805 by the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, PAFA is the country’s second-oldest art academy. Its collection contains paintings by European masters such as Rembrandt, Rubens, Van Dyck and Gainsborough.
National Museum of American Jewish History- Founded in 1976, the National Museum of American Jewish History tells American Jews’ stories. Exhibits include items like the Star of David, a Torah scroll and a menorah.
Franklin Institute Science Museum – A science museum located in Benjamin Franklin Parkway. The Franklin Institute has interactive exhibits about biology, astronomy, physics, and chemistry. Visitors can learn how electricity works, explore the human body and even try out different jobs.
